Like, I think one of the things I hear a lot about in community, Tom, about e-bikes, is the, uh, the speed with which people are riding on scooters, on sidewalks and in and out of traffic.

I see a lot of people on scooters without helmets, and that creates its own safety risks.

Certainly, to the extent, uh, there is evidence that e-bikes are being used to commit crimes, there should be an appropriate response to it.

We can use the prosecutorial tools we have to hold people accountable, but there also can be regulatory fixes, and that's something that I think the council should consider.

And, uh, I think we do have to tighten up how we're allowing the e-bikes, the speeds with each we- e-bikes and e-scooters are driving on the streets to be, um, happening.

But we also have to recognize that transportation is a big, significant issue in our city, and for many, many people, the ability to get on a scooter or an e-bike to get around the city has made our city much more accessible, much more successful than without.
