Um, and new father, Scott Sternberg, um, who, uh, basically, and this is my favorite part about, he basically named him his child two letters away from being a fast and the furious cat character.
Jesse SkolnikHOST
7:32
Um, his, his new child's name is Ryan Connor and, uh, he's this close to being Brian O'Connor.
Jesse SkolnikHOST
7:38
And that just made me laugh.
Jesse SkolnikHOST
7:39
And, and, Congratulations, Scott.

Robbie FreemanHOST
37:24
I was like, if they use a clip
Jesse SkolnikHOST
37:26
from the previous movie, like I, like for some reason I've always found it fascinating of like what actually gets an actor paid.
Jesse SkolnikHOST
37:32
It's like, if they say a line, if it's just like, Every time they show, going back to Fast and Furious, every time they show Brian O'Connor saying family in a movie after he died, is he getting paid? Or was he already paid for that piece of art? Totally not necessary to think about, but it is what I think
Robbie FreemanHOST
37:51
about.
Iain McParlandHOST
9:29
It's going to drive my nuts.
Iain McParlandHOST
9:31
one eternity later brian brian o'connor brian god damn it shouldn't have done that anyway family they are family
Thomas RichardsHOST
9:40
yes and that's one thing i really did like about both episodes the beginning of a family vibe between specifically tommy and vision i liked how as soon as vision started to you know not be completely closed off tommy just jumped at the chance to like okay father figure which kind of bit him in the ass in the end but i don't know it's something about the actor for tommy he just comes off as so sincere to me especially like when he like he like tries to be more like open to vision about like you know his trauma with water Or even say, look, I bought us new clothes.
Thomas RichardsHOST
10:16
I nicked him from the car.
Ben CarlinHOST
18:47
I found the results to always be very interesting because a lot of the top people I was aligned with are characters that I tend to absolutely love right in real life.
Ben CarlinHOST
18:55
and yeah and fiction so uh at what my number two person is jack pearson from this is us okay very cool follow and then there's nick young from crazy rich asians uh toby damon and then uh you've got like brian o'connor and ted lasso and there you go very fun
Jonathan CarlinHOST
19:11
yeah
Ben CarlinHOST
19:12
yeah so anyway just just kind of like one of those things where i'm sort of like okay i don't know really who jack pearson is or if he's like the dad no he's the dad yeah it's
Matt HardigreeHOST
53:09
Then Brian comes and gets them.
Matt HardigreeHOST
53:11
And then as we get to it, we get to see that scene where Dom realizes that Brian's a cop because Brian identifies himself not as Brian Earl Splinter, but as Brian O'Connor, who writes for MAPD or MPD or something.
Matt HardigreeHOST
53:25
They didn't want to say LAPD for whatever jurisdiction he's from that is not LAPD.
speaker_4SOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
53:29
Yeah, this is Officer Brian O'Connor.
speaker_4SOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
53:32
I'm off duty MAPD.
speaker_4SOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
53:33
I need a life flight rollout right away.

Now, the next part of the history does not quite make sense to me, but for whatever reason, here is the story.
Amy NicholsonHOST
8:39
The story is that Paul Walker is somehow still not the franchise's first pick to play the cop, Brian O'Connor.
Paul ScheerHOST
8:44
Wait, what?
Amy NicholsonHOST
8:45
Yeah, the first pick, I don't get this either.
Paul ScheerHOST
11:35
And these titles, yes, are very confusing.
Paul ScheerHOST
11:37
So we'll just kind of jump around.
Paul ScheerHOST
11:39
But that's the one where Letty dies and Dom ends the movie getting sent to prison while letting Brian and Mia start a life together.
Paul ScheerHOST
11:47
Now, I just want to say two interesting things about that.
Christy WhitmanGUEST
61:46
hello, Fast and Furious.
Christy WhitmanGUEST
61:48
We're talking about Toretto and Brian O'Connor.
San QingHOST
61:52
That's right.
Christy WhitmanGUEST
61:54
When Paul Walker passed, I mean, just...
DanHOST
31:43
But it was just one of those funny things.
DanHOST
31:44
Like, that's all I could think of when I was watching this was like Brian Campbell or Connor, Brian O'Connor, whatever his name is.
DanHOST
31:51
Yeah, yeah.
DanHOST
31:52
I know this movie didn't get good reviews, but I'm looking at the box office.
TimHOST
20:47
this one, everything is, is falling apart.
TimHOST
20:51
Um, for one thing, the fact that they keep bringing up Brian, I think is a really, I mean, it, it, it gets worse.
TimHOST
21:03
The further the franchise goes on, but here you could just tell us like, Oh no, no, no.
TimHOST
21:07
They should have just, just leave it.

GrahamHOST

So, yeah.
GrahamHOST
38:48
So, like, it's...
GrahamHOST
38:50
I feel like it's only sort of in retrospect that I was like, oh, were they trying to make a new Brian? Like, that just wasn't really apparent throughout the film.
GrahamHOST
39:00
You know, like, it was just...
BavHOST
53:54
Suddenly he's working with the bad guy, Cipher, and, and no one knows why he's doing that.
BavHOST
54:00
And obviously it's revealed later that he's been blackmailed into it because unbeknownst to Vin, he got Elena pregnant, and she had a child, who is Vin Diesel's son.
BavHOST
54:14
And she is being kept captive, as his, as is his son, by the bad guy.
BavHOST
54:21
So he is doing this to them.
BavHOST
54:22
There is a cool line in there that I do like when he's talking to Cipher, and it's something along the lines of...
BavHOST
55:52
But yeah, we've got all the old players back.
BavHOST
55:55
Deckard Shaw didn't die.
BavHOST
55:57
He ends up locked up in a prison right next to The Rock, so cue the bants there.
Jim HillHOST
32:26
And so they start up again in April.
Jim HillHOST
32:28
But mind you, Brian O'Connor, the Paul Walker character, he still has scenes that need to be shot for the sequel.
Jim HillHOST
32:37
So in order to pull this off, Universal reaches into its bag of tricks and uses a number of cinematic devices.
Jim HillHOST
32:47
I mean, some of the footage is completed...
