Brian Murgatroyd

Well, so near and yet so far for a second year running in the ILT20 Development Tournament.

Evening, Brian.

Pleasure as always.

Yeah, ever the bride's maid, never the bride.

What are your emotions?

A pleasure, Brian, as always.

emotions yeah we're obviously absolutely delighted as a team as a coaching staff to reach another final and what another great performance you know we've just said to the lads in the dressing room there that in truth you know at the drinks break in the second innings there when we went out to have a chat you know it was more about making sure that we continue to fight and if you know if the result doesn't go our way we go we will go down you know the vipers way fighting and let's not be passive and And, you know, the lads got together and what a sensational second half of our bowling innings.

Again, I know I've said it before this week or over this last fortnight, I thought Vitya's decision-making as captain was outstanding.

That's the way he plays.

And yeah, you always felt that although they were in a decent position, they weren't absolutely flying like DC were the other evening.

So, you know, as is the case, as you know well, Brian, that, you know, wickets in T20 cricket are the best form of slowing any run rate down.

So...

Jack, first of all, what are your emotions after another remarkable match in a tournament full of remarkable matches?

Yeah, so everybody's just sort of come down now from that excitement, Brian.

Yeah, it was, like you said, quite remarkable, really.

I mean, we started off really well and then probably a little bit disappointed not to get in excess of 200.

We normally associate matches at the ICC Academy with high scoring, so what do you put these results down to? Is it just a coincidence or something else?

Yes, Brian, a very strange day at the ICC today.

As you say, usually we see high scoring games and on the back of that high scoring tie yesterday, the scores have sort of gone down since then.

So I don't know.

And you should have Kuzema bin Tanvir as a bowling option for your next match.

Is that correct?

Yeah, that is correct, Brian.

Kuzema, I think, arrives back in the country from international duty either later today or tomorrow.
