Brian Gionta

You know what it is for forwards right now, Tony? It's about a million every 10 points.

There was, um, there was that centennial year, um, where was it? Uh, right after that when they got eliminated, and the Canadians went out and, uh, they traded for Scott Gomez, and they signed Brian Gionta, and they signed Mike Cammalleri.

They signed a couple of, you know, pretty big name free agents.

They were, they were-

... don't even remember that happening

... it's like Brian, uh, Gionta.

Was that, like, the year that Matthews had, like, 70-something? Is that why I just blanked out that Chris Kreider had a 50-goal season? I, I had no recollection of that.

It wasn't Gionta.

It was Gomez.

It was Scott Gomez.

So yeah, maybe he's not a Josh Anderson crasher or banger, but he'll hang around and take some abuse right on the edge of the blue paint to get a couple of goals.

And then my first couple of years in Montreal, I had great veteran players.

Brian Gionta was our captain.

I lived with Josh Georges and these were guys that, you know, had been through good years, had been through bad years and they understood it.

It helps a lot.

So lucky to, to have done it.

I mean, you know, I had Brian Gionta and Travis Moen giving me fist bumps.
