It's the ultimate comfort food, and whether it's in a grilled cheese, smothering a burrito, or spread delicately on top of bread or crackers, there is a lot to love about cheese.

To talk with host Brian Ellison about their top picks are three all-star food show guests.

Carlton Logan is co-administrator of Facebook's Kansas City Eats page.

Mary Block is a food writer and blogger.

It is a huge piece of cheese that is breaded and fried.

So it's very cheesy if you're looking for a cheesy burger.

That was our host, Brian Ellison, speaking with Carlton Logan, Mary Block, and Shannon Carpenter.

Up to Date is a production of KCUR, and this episode was produced by me, Hallie Jackson.

First off, on a note of personal privilege, I want to call out the terrible timing of the United States Supreme Court.

Could the justices have been any more inconsiderate by making its big Missouri map ruling on Friday, just two hours before our broadcast last week? Why did they have to wait until the last moment? Was our production schedule not among the justices' considerations? Now, now that's out of our system, this has to be the first program in literally months we don't have a huge legal ruling hanging over us as we tape the program.

The botched execution in Tennessee may bring new focus to that issue in Kansas.

And on that, we will say our week has been reviewed, courtesy of Channel 41's Charlie Keegan and Eric Wesson.

Quickly, Nick, the story that we didn't report, ICE agents are now in western Kansas and apparently doing some arrests at some of the meat packing plants and other places where there is a large immigrant presence.

And interestingly enough, the two Republican senators from Kansas are complaining a little bit about ISIS tactics out there, which I found interesting.
