Um, what would later...

The people that later would start, um, Neutral Ground, like, uh, Brian David-Marshall, um, they were running big tournaments.

And in Boston, there was a store called Your Move Games, uh, owned and operated by Rob Dougherty.

Uh, he is in the Pro Tour Hall of Fame, um, a- along with Darwin Kastle and Dave Humphreys.

Like, what hope is there for me? Um, but once I was actually at a university level studying graphic design, uh, computers invented the red squiggly underline, so it tells you when you've spelt a word wrong.

I was like, "Oh, maybe I can write things." So I was like, "Oh, maybe I'll, I'll try writing stuff for a website." Um, and I figured The Dojo would not accept any submissions, but there was another website called neutralground.net, because, you know, why spend it for a big URL, that was run by a store in New York and a guy called Brian David Marshall.

Now, if you have ever been involved with Magic, you'll have heard of him because he's, uh, I was gonna say formerly known as the Magic Hall of Fame historian or something like that.

Lovely guy.

So I was this sort of like mystical character they'd never heard of.

And so because I had just been able to put myself out there writing and been vaguely okay at the game, not that good, I think I was more entertaining than anything, I had this sort of mystique about me, and everyone kinda got to know me.

And I went backstage and they're like, "Oh, I've always wanted to meet you." And Brian David Marshall was like, "Oh, do you remember you used to write for my website?" I was like, "Yes, how would I have forgotten that I'd written for this guy who was..." Anyway, and so I've got all these great friendships through Magic, through doing that, through the coverage space.

And from like 2006 through to about 2019, I was doing event coverage for Magic all around the APAC region.
