I'm, I'm like the man with a thousand voices.

But yeah, overall, I just felt like this was a slightly awkward mix where it's like it's not really a- about Blake's crew, so...

And it ends in a very disappointing way, where he doesn't remember any of it, which I think is such a typical, like, well, not, not typical of Blake's 7, they don't do this very much, but a cop-out where it's just like, "Oh, great, so we don't have to deal with this." I mean, I know we rarely deal with things next week, but, you know, we're not gonna deal with this at all.

And, you know, elephant in the room, uh, I don't know whose idea it was, like, to, to give Brian Croucher that voice.

Um, it's weird enough as you say, just the plan is weird, right? He's got this insane outfit where it seems like he's got, uh, what I hope is supposed to be a glass eye poking through his mummy outfit.

[laughs] And, uh, but the lovely story is that, uh, we went to a Longleat.

There was a big Longleat, Longleat exhibition in '83.

But I enjoyed that bit.

i did um uh travis with the foresight to having mobiles uh with his wonderful machine i couldn't find a picture of it sadly uh but it was like a moment it was like your very first move by yeah i was like one of them and i and credit um you know credit credit to wardrobe for getting a better eye patch for uh for brian croucher in this episode um but yeah yeah i didn't i didn't enjoy the whole the planet thing and that that really that was where that was where it was going for me again but i i let myself get involved in the story try to forget about you know the planet try to forget and ignore the the fight scene which of course you've gone into in depth awful awful awful and that bit where the backwards and forwards and then they're sweeping the food off the table um you know there's some good bits in it i mean i've done fight scenes i know how difficult it is to choreograph i could see the bits that were choreographed and i love to jump onto the table because that's quite a difficult thing to do especially when you're the size of those two guys but you know you could have just made it so much more you know so so so easier to do and look it's no different in some of the some of the other programs that i made back in those days There's some horrendous fight scenes in various other programs.

So this isn't just the thing that's in Blade 7.

It's a constant in stuff that was made in the 70s, which is great.

um you know down on a planet or wherever you are and and i thought it worked i thought that really worked for me we know avon and cali are a good pairing right we know that's always a winner they play it naturally i think those interactions with are we going to blow up are we going to go after the ship aren't we those always work really well but the jenna villa i have not i don't remember seeing before um and at least it's good we get an opportunity to have it now so those those female portrayals plus the other pieces of villa um i just really enjoyed and they were unusual for blake seven to date

okay good stuff verlin uh standout actors for you in this episode nick

um i'll tell you i don't know about a standout actor but uh A surprisingly positive performance, I thought, was Brian Croucher, who, whilst he didn't have loads to do, he wasn't over the top or having it up.

He was just normal.

So that's six and a half.

Brian Croucher, would he have been a good doctor?

I love Brian for bits, you know me.

I won't say a bad word, but no, he would not have been a good doctor.
