The latest update for the week ending October 14th confirms a cattle case on October 10th in Pecos County, Texas.

That follows an earlier confirmation this month on October 2nd of screw worms in a dog in Brewster County, also in Texas.

In North Texas, moderate flooding is forecast on the Pease River near Vernon in Wilbarger County, with minor flooding on Beaver Creek near Electra.

The Brownsville office has a red flag warning in effect through Saturday morning for Deep South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley as a strong cold front brings northerly winds and low humidity.
