Brett Pilkington

Yeah, it was really fun.

Brett Pilkington even texted me the second intermission.

He's like, how's John looking? Great.

I'm like, oh, he's okay.

You put Braden Hordachuk in a place to succeed.

You know, Brett Pilkington has talked a lot about the family feeling that there's such a good sort of vibe around Warman.

Everybody's kind of believing and pulling for each other.

And, you know, they bring in a guy like Noah Derwin, who's a terrific leader and terrific character.

So we thought we'd have some fun with it.

Let's start with Brett Pilkington of the Warman Wolverines.

He said, I'm going to lean into my nickname.

and I'm gonna dress up as

He better now,

yeah.

Yeah, so Brett Pilkington, that's a great costume, it suits him.

He should go on the bench

I think he's, you know, terrific as well.

And again, Brett Pilkington kind of used the Liam Hunks comparison, which is fantastic.

Huge praise.

They got Bennett Leibel back from injury.

Of course, the former Melville millionaire getting one over.

And I did ask Brett about the shootout.

Warman actually won a game in the shootout.

I said, what was the key to actually winning a shootout? Because I was talking about Warman having a terrible time in the shootouts.

And really see really cool to see how far we've come in our careers.

So, yeah.

Trey, I've got to ask you, and I'm trying to word this here, the dynamic of last year being the first year, kind of this blended team of local boys and Notre Dame kids, and Brett trying to figure that out, and Vinny, Paul Marine being the leader and trying to pull you guys along.

It seems like there was a lot going on maybe last year.

Uh, you know, obviously Redlich was a guy that was expected to be good for Weyburn but had injury issues last year.

Owen Parks is a guy that Brett Pilkington was really high on.

Not many people knew about him.

He's maybe 5'8", 5'9", but he hits like a truck.

And then he scores a beautiful goal, so that's right, set the tone.

And hey, Parks does that.

And then, you know, Brett Pilkington loves him and, and you can see why.

And then I guess just to kind of, uh, go back to the Humboldt Broncos scenario where, you know, on Friday I think there was probably a lot of y- guys getting in.
