What is CMBD? What's happening out there?

Well, they had their press conference today, and I said they were having their quarterly crime stats press conference.

I mean, they do that every three months or so.

They have their quarterly stats on how things are going crime-wise in the city.

Right.

And I think they spent about three minutes on it today.

They really didn't even discuss it.

So when the FBI was investigating this person, what I was just talking about, the FBI was investigating him.

They went through his phone and then they turned over all the evidence against this person to CMPD.

And while going through the evidence, CMPD discovered all these horrible text messages involving many officers from within CMPD.

CMPD immediately started doing an investigation into this internal investigation.

And next thing you know, six people have been suspended without pay and cited for termination.

Now, what is exactly in those text messages? I've heard, but I can't confirm anything because I just don't have the sourcing yet.

And what are we looking for tonight?

So, you know, it started with the investigation when I broke the story, actually, while I was in Wuhan, of all places.

Wow.

The North Carolina State Auditor's Office was investigating and had been investigating CMS for quote-unquote financial irregularities for a while.

Now it's been about a month now, a little bit over a month.

And then we knew that the SBI got involved.

When Spencer Merriweather, the district attorney, said, I've asked the SBI to investigate CMS.

Right.
