I was on, I was on one wing and then, um, we had Brent Tate was my center.

Yeah.

Um, Johnno was a, Johnno was a halves, Morgo was a halves.

...

I, I didn't lean on, on them as much as I should have for advice and that.

But one person that I, I did lean on fair bit was Brent Tate.

Um-

And, you know, regardless of what happens this week, I know we've got a better club this year than what we had last year to the previous years, and that's what you want to plan for.

Cam, one of my best mates Brent Tate had spent a number of years playing with the Warriors and one of the things that he glows so highly about is the Warriors are a different club in the sense that they harness the culture and family together.

Like it's not just a football club and it's not just about going out there and playing on the field 80 minutes.

Talk us through what Webby has been able to do with harnessing the wider community of the family and the culture so you can go out there and get the job done.

So a couple of centers in there.

Hodges and Tate, outstanding for Queensland, um, at origin level for many, many years, but also superb for their clubs as well.

They had to be there.

Otherwise, the other winger that you could say, he played outside Mr. Mata'utia for quite some time, and you wouldn't mind old Jorge Fuhrer, Ta Fuhrer.

You wouldn't mind him having a crack at it either.

Um, and obviously the, the team was having a bit of a, a tough season after a flying start, and then it sort of all fell apart, which you can kind of imagine after the, the tragedy of Sonny and, and some injuries.

I think it was, uh, Brent Tate, uh, went down really early that year.

But, um, you're sort of forging your way.

It's, uh, you know, if, if anything, it's, it's good to, to be debuting in a year like that where, you know, you, you're probably not too worried about the results as such, as much as you might be 'cause you're, you've, you know, on that stage for the first time and taking that massive leap in your career.

But it was a, we had that good, um, that good balance.

Like, you know, like the Steve, uh, the, um, the Brent Tates who would absolutely, he doesn't care whether you're big, Black, ugly, whatever-

You've got Sean Berrigan.

You've got who are the halves? I was going to say Shane Perry and Darren Lockyer.

Shane Perry and Darren Lockyer.

He's played 21 cup games for South Logan when he was in the Broncos system and then obviously he's played a full season for the Raiders in New South Wales Cup and he seems quite mature beyond his years.

He did a post-game interview with Brent Tate and I was pretty impressed.

Yeah, he spoke really well for a 20-year-old on NRL debut so he's clearly got a good head on his shoulders.
