They thought they had a chance.

And then at the last minute, he goes and joins Brennan Marion, who recruited him to Texas, out of Colorado.

So instead, they've got Nick Anderson.

That was sort of their backup play, Nick Anderson and Shankar.

He said this during his availability earlier this week, quote, I look at the film, we look as if we're poorly prepared, poorly coached, poor discipline, soft football team.

Softball team is not what I expect to see out of Georgia Tech under Brent Key, but that's what we saw last week against Deion's Colorado team, which again, tip my cap to what he was able to do, bringing over Brennan Marion, who was a head coach last year at Sacramento State, to be his OC and for them to be able to run the ball for the first time really in his tenure there at Boulder.

But 51 rushing yards for Georgia Tech, 73.

If you want to look at sack-adjusted yardage, which I think makes a lot more sense since college, for whatever reason, decides to take the yardage away from the rushing attack when it relates to passing stat.

I think they did some great things.

This whole Brennan Marion go-go offense, I hope we really see what it truly looks like.

But I didn't get that impression of it was a go-go.

It was just go.

What

was going to happen? He fired Alex Atkins, and we think he was just going to replace an O-line coach with an O-line coach, like he wasn't going to have an O.C.? ? I mean, we had all names as a hot board candidate, Brennan Marion, like all these other dudes, like maybe Dan Mullen would want to come be an OC as he gets ready to try to be like, I feel like it was, it was looked upon as though like there was no possible way.

But again, maybe speaking for yourself, Corey, you didn't think maybe it was that much.

I could be wrong.

It'd be great to get all that stuff, your first 100-yard rusher of the coach primary and stuff, but it'd mean a lot more if it was against Baylor or Northwestern as opposed to Weber State, right? I just think it would mean more for the direction of this team for the rest of the season if you have Julian just kind of break out, I guess, in week two, put up 300-plus yards, get the receivers feeling good and comfortable, and that way you're fully rolling in, all cylinders firing into Northwestern.

Yeah, it's funny because I go back to the postgame and Coach Prime gives the game ball to Brennan Marion.

What does he immediately do? He gives it to Julian.

And I think it's because he knows exactly what we're talking about right now.

Obviously, that's a perfect world.

But I do think that if Brennan Marion had to choose, I think he would choose the receivers this week and the quarterback this week, just because then you go into Northwestern with everyone feeling confident.

For sure.

I mean, yeah, I mean, it was a lot of great Smith from Jaquil Smith the last time he played Weber State, which was last season, right? Ran for over 130 yards, had two touchdowns against Weber State last year at Sac State.

And this is an offensive coordinator in Brennan Marion who last year against Sac State, I tweeted about it, they scored 55 points on Weber State, you know, had three 100-yard rushers in that game, only threw the ball 10 times.

Only had six completions and they were able to score 55 points and win going away.

So this is going to be the standard has kind of been set, right? As of as it relates to what this offense, the expectations are for them in this matchup as 34 and a half point favorites against Weber State.

And I think Damien Henderson and Jaquil Smith, um, I think they both proved a lot in that Georgia tech game.

And again, if you look back to last year with Brennan Marion coaching Sacramento state against Weber, I guess Weber state last year, I think they had multiple hundred yard rushers.

And I think that's a really good sign that they can produce something similar this year.

Obviously it's like totally different personnel on both sides, but it's just a super, super favorable matchup for Colorado's run game right now.

So it'll be interesting to see who or how hard they push for him.

I think that's a Brennan Marion signature recruit right there where it's like, hey, in-state, Talented quarterback.

He's not leaving the state.
