Brendan Greene

We were interested in this challenge of, of weak states.

Um, but you know, that, that term kind of stuck with me, and so when I was back out of the Pentagon, I started doing, um, a good bit of work on that from an academic perspective, had an international security article on it a few years ago with Brendan Greene.

Um, and that, that framework, whether you buy our framework in that article or not, but this idea of when we have new capabilities, some of them will depend on vulnerabilities in the adversary that might be fragile, right? So exquisite cyber accesses or what have you.

Um, how, how do you as a policymaker evaluate, um, do I reveal this for deterrence knowing that it's perishable? Do I conceal it knowing it won't contribute to deterrence? How do I think about this in, you know, uh, competition phase or peacetime, however you wanna characterize that, in crisis, and then ultimately in conflict? And Brendan and I had some, some thoughts.
