I mean, unless they do something with chronology, I am really not expecting.

Assuming they're telling the Hunt for Gollum story that Tolkien tells, without shifting things chronologically, which they could do, but assuming they don't, 100% of Aragorn's activity... will happen chronologically before he meets Frodo in the Inn at Bree.

So everything in the film is prequel as far as Aragorn's character is concerned.

The same is true of Gollum, except Gollum is in the Hobbit films too, obviously.

But it is its own thing.

However, these movies are taking place within that thing, in the creative world that they've already established.

The Nazgul then ride north and hit Sarn Ford, the southern crossing into the Shire, which is guarded by the Doomdane Rangers.

They hit the Rangers at night.

Frodo Baggins has just walked out the door.

Komol chases them, sniffing blindly for the ring, but misses them at the ferry.

The Nazgul regroup with the Witch King near Bree.

They get the report from their turned spy that a hobbit matching the description vanished in the middle of the Prancing Pony Inn, meaning he used the ring and then escaped their subsequent midnight raid on the inn.
