And a pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle in the New South Wales Snowy Monaro region last night about 6:30.

Emergency services called to Monaro Highway, one kilometer south of Bredbo, after reports came through of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.

Officers attached to the local police district responded, along with paramedics, who treated the woman.

However, she died at the scene.
