Brandon Dukes

He's the Republican running for Pennsylvania's 12th house district.

It's a seat that Republicans held for more than two decades before Democrat Brandon Dukes flipped it earlier this year.

And what makes this race even more interesting is that President Trump carried this district by more than 18 points in 2024, and it contains Butler County, site of the rally where the president was nearly assassinated.

Now, with election day just three weeks away, Timko is facing Dukes once again in a rematch that could help determine control of Pennsylvania State House.

To help them make sure that they're acquiring AI products that are protecting student data privacy, that are meant and tailored for educational purposes and not just grabbing anything off the shelf.

A similar bill from Western PA Democrat Brandon Dukes would require all school districts, both public and private, to adopt a clear AI use policy for students and staff.

Chester County Democrat Melissa Shusterman's bill would prohibit use of AI in providing mental health or behavioral counseling to students rather than a qualified professional.

And a bill from Chris Pielli, also from Chester County, would create a state grant program to help schools train staff in effective and responsible use of AI, which Pielli says gives districts flexibility to decide the best fit for their schools.

Uh, uh, there's a Democratic candidate out in western Allegheny County, Hadley Haas, who's running on a anti-Flock campaign, basically, uh, among other things, and, uh, wants to see a, um, like a Flock ban and, and heavy regulation.

The new state rep up in Cranberry, Brandon Dukes, uh, has introduced a bill, uh, to ban Flock.

So not only locally, and then, then lots of other c- uh, lots of other state reps across the commonwealth have been doing that.

I do think we will see something about this, which I think is a testament to how politics works, right? You, you have people, the populace is, uh, concerned about something, and the representatives respond.

Absolutely.

Is lightning going to strike all over the Commonwealth this November 3rd? Because, you know, Brandon Dukes just flipped a historically red seat for the state house, and I really want you to do it in your district as well.

I mean, I'm really hopeful for that.

I don't know if you know this about my district, but I'm the first Democrat to run in 12 years.
