My 24 female boyfriend, 25 male, recently recovered from head trauma and brain damage, but he's not the same person anymore.

I've known my boyfriend for pretty much my whole life.

This guy is undoubtedly the love of my life, and I'm so incredibly lucky to have him.

It was all too good to be true.

Six months ago, he was in a freak accident that left him with a severe concussion and some brain damage.

We live together, so from day one, I've been taking care of him.

And when I went to leave, I passed out.

And the way in which I fell, I fractured my skull and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and skull fracture.

So honestly, I spent time in the intensive care unit.

And that's really how I became very like neuro heavy and, you know, brain based was because I needed to discover what my brain was capable of to be able to heal and to be a high functioning person.

And so what did you think you'd be doing after you graduated?

Honestly, back then, I probably, well, one, before that, I don't even know what I thought I'd be doing because I was just living a life of shenanigans and then I had my brain injury.

And then I was just honestly kind of trying to get through it and fight for my ability to stay focused and to heal my brain and to do those things.

There are a number of ways to get over that bridge into seven.

And one of the ways that I found, and I found it by accident because I didn't know that I had a brain injury to the right prefrontal cortex that I lived with my entire adult life until I was in my 60s.

And that brain injury had fingers extending through all parts of the brain.

I knew that something was different about my brain because I had to work to make things go into long-term memory.

And I had to kind of use tricks to get myself to go there to get material to the long-term memory.

where they specifically work on helping people develop gratitude and forgiveness.

And so I investigated and I booked myself and I went.

And that's where I worked with the neuroscientist who did a mind map and told me that with the kind of brain injury I had, that he would expect me to present with no short-term memory and no ability to focus at all.

So that was a really meaningful study for me.

And that, shortly after that, is when Ken suffered a traumatic brain injury.
