In 1978, paranormal writer Brad Steiger repeated the Frederick account in Alien Meetings.

Steiger helped move the story from Barker's newsletter into commercial paranormal literature.

That was an important moment in the legend's spread, but not independent confirmation.

Yet in 1990, the Sunday of March 4th, a cardinal named O'Connell claimed there was a rise in diabolically instigated violence because of two exorcisms that had been performed in one year in New York City.

Yet he gives Ed and Lorraine Warren the position to testify to the witnessing of these events.

And so my interest kind of grew out of that film.

And I remember sitting in high school reading Brad Steiger's Strangers from the Sky, which kind of got things going.

The one thing that really kind of interested me was the idea that at that time, and that was the mid-1960s, that the government was claiming, well, these things are fuzzy blobs of light in the sky, and you really don't have an idea what they are.

And I learned that one of my friend's mother had seen a flying saucer.

This was back in the, um, uh, in the '80s, 1980s.

And I knew the secret for finding Brad Steiger, 'cause he was a teacher at a college in Decorah, Iowa.

His birth name was, uh, Eugene Olson, but he legally changed it later to Brad Steiger, but his phone number was listed as Eugene Olson.

So I found his phone number.

I called him up to ask him about this one disappearance that he had written in one of his books.

I did a book about Project Moondust.

You know, here's a project where they were out doing this stuff, and Brad Spigers p- Brad Steiger, uh, Brad Sparks pointed out that there was no Project Moondust.

Um, you know, I'd go to the library.

I was that weird kid that would grab the Hans Holzer book or the Brad Steiger book or the Warrens' book.

I'd read all about these things they're doing, and I thought, "Man, that is super, super-duper cool." And so then later on, um, I, I just decided to take the plunge and do it.

Uh, I, I mean, there was a fateful situation that happened, I think I've told it on the air before, when I talked to a dead guy for a few minutes.

Jennings Frederick would certainly agree because he allegedly met just such a being while hunting one day in West Virginia back in 1968.

According to American paranormal researcher Brad Steiger, Frederick suddenly became aware of what he later described as a high-pitched jabbering, much like that of a recording running at exaggerated speed, yet which he could somehow understand.

and which was informing him that it came in peace but needed medical assistance.

At the same moment, Frederick saw beside him the extraordinary quasi-botanical entity described above with a semi-human face, long ears, yellow slanted eyes, and two stick-like arms.

It was printed back in 1968, and it's just been sitting there.

First of all, have you ever heard of Warren Smith?

I love walking over to the library and seeing a few that I know and a few that I don't and grabbing that one.

So his biography, just under the name Warren Smith, which is very important, he wrote 25 books, okay? Now, he then went under a pseudonym of Eric Norman, so keep a lookout in your library for that, and he wrote 11 books.

Then he and Brad Steiger with Eugene Olson wrote five books together.

Then you have Warren co-authored with Gabriel Green one book.

It has you convinced that this is a reality.

And people like John Keel and Brad Steiger pointed this out.
