Last week, it became clear that a series of big demonstrations on the outskirts of Paris were becoming something much larger.

These had started about protests about conditions in local high schools, students tired of not having enough teachers and crumbling buildings, with a sense that the system had been so stretched thin it had simply stopped caring about them.

You cannot tell me that's not a reference to the MTV show Together, the satire about a boy band back in the day that actually then started doing real concerts [laughs] and they got real fans.

I had their album, so that set the stage, clearly, for whatever bizarro world we are living in now.

[pensive music] Yesterday morning, authorities in Illinois announced they'd arrested a young man for plotting a mass shooting.

The FBI says a 19-year-old's facing charges for allegedly planning a mass shooting, possibly at a Hindu temple near Chicago.
