You know, all these little things, training, preparation, practice habits, all these little things allowed me to then fail forward, if you will, and get in the room with these guys and now really eyes wide open and be able to be a sponge and watch how Wayne Gretzky handles the notoriety and the scrutiny of fandom and media and and how he prepared for games and how he saw the game and being able to watch how Al McInnis prepared and trained and was allowing himself to play 25, 30 minutes a night and how hard he competed in practice and in games and really kind of soaking up all that information so that I could leave every year with something to really focus on in the summer And after failing mightily the first two or three years of my career, then having that aha moment and really seeing the greats of the game and how dedicated they were and how they took advantage of every opportunity to get better and continue to improve and utilize that.
