Brad Henry

After graduating from St. Mary's University School of Law, she began her career as a prosecutor in rural northeastern Oklahoma.

Awarded the Oklahoma Prosecutor of the Year award by the governor, Brad Henry, she developed the first ever coordinated community response team for domestic violence in her district and implemented evidence-based prosecution tactics for the prosecution of family violence, violence cases.

About 12 years ago, she moved to El Paso and worked as a stay-at-home mom with three children for 10 years.

Oh, the hardest work.

Anyway, yesterday afternoon, I looked at past Oklahoma gubernatorial elections.

Did you know it's been 20 years since Brad Henry ran for re-election? It's been 24 years since he was first elected.

20 years ago in 2006, Brad Henry, Democrat, ran for re-election.

He's the last Democrat to be the governor.

And he won.

Speaking of numbers, one of our listeners said, very disappointed we've not gotten a whole bunch of campaign mailers again.

I was in the process of building a house out of them.

20 years ago, Oklahoma reelected Brad Henry as governor.

It seems like it has been 25 years since Mary Fallin was governor.

Can you think about when Brad Henry was governor? It has been forever since Brad Henry was governor.

Who was governor when we started this show? Probably Brad.

I'm sorry.

Let me be more

respectful.

You tell me that Brad Henry's running for governor.

Okay.

That didn't happen.

Brad Henry ended up distorting a view on education and won a gubernatorial election.

Otherwise, I think Steve Largent would have been the governor of Oklahoma and eventually a pretty strong contender for president of the United States.

I, you know, my wife sent a text earlier.

Eventually became a state legislator.

Eventually went to work for then-Governor Brad Henry as a legislative liaison.

He liaised.

And then after that, became president of Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

I think that's right.

I think he taught at Weatherford and at Ouachita Heights.

Elected to the Oklahoma House of Reps in 1992, served four terms, elected majority whip before joining the staff of Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry, a senior advisor to the head of legislative

affairs.
