Unfortunately, our friend Tro had a little medical emergency he's taking care of right now, so I'm here with Dr. Jay, biochemistry PhD from Boston University School of Medicine, and also a degree in theology.

So this might be a fun, you know, how do, how do we put together biology and theology and all these things-

I used to think statins were amazing.

My mentor, when I was at Boston University Medical School, he was taking statins.

He was telling me how amazing they were.

And I've slowly, slowly changed over the years.

Yeah, of course.

So, uh, I have a PhD in biochemistry from Boston University Medical School.

I did...

Full-time I did three years of Alzheimer's research before that, but then at the medical school I did five years of heart disease research full time.

Sure enough, there were coverages of several things over the past two weeks, all properly bylined.

Two weeks before, he had written a little article on research being done on cancer at Boston University School of Medicine, most of which he'd gotten from Dr. Kamarov.

No clues there.

He'd evidently been behaving naturally for the past two weeks.

This is Dr. Isaac Asimov on the faculty of Boston University School of Medicine and the table of contents of almost any science fiction magazine you might name.

But there are

magazines... which feature stories that are primarily intended to be vicariously exciting.

The man who works on rocket fuels and speculates on rocket fuels professionally, so to speak, may not have had either the time or or the inclination to read journals on electronics and to find out, oh, where do we stand on interplanetary communication? But he will, for relaxation, very often read science fiction and come across a story in which a science fiction writer used information from another field to speculate on.

So it serves as a kind of general stimulation, even to the scientific expert.

Now my fellow faculty members at Boston University School of Medicine are perfectly aware of my science fiction background.

They were aware of it, or at least the people who hired me were aware of it at the time I came.
