Bordeaux Prison

But Wilbert decided to turn himself in.

He was transferred to Bordeaux Prison in Montreal for execution.

His family and supporters saw his decision to surrender as further proof of his innocence.

Their thinking was simple.

Wilbert Coffin spent his final hours alone with no visitors and no last requests.

The only words he uttered were a final declaration of his innocence.

In the early hours of February 10th, 1956, Wilbert Coffin was hanged at Bordeaux Prison in Montreal.

He left behind a grieving widow, even if not in law, a young son, devastated parents, and siblings.
