I found out somehow that it's made by Japanese, you know, it's made by Japanese people.
ZenHOST
65:29
It's a Japanese show, you know? So it's, can I go to Kinokuniya? Can I go to a Japanese bookstore? Hey, look, they've got all of this other stuff, you know? So it, it, you know, that I need more of this thing.
ZenHOST
65:42
I really like that I saw on TV.
ZenHOST
65:44
Um, I need to go discover more about it kind of ends up, you know, you go down these roads and it leads you to anime and more anime.
Chatty PattyHOST
13:44
I don't mind go- I did this before.
Chatty PattyHOST
13:46
Now, I went to Kinokuniya, which is in, um, Columb- what is it? 59th Street.
BriHOST
13:52
Mm-hmm.
Chatty PattyHOST
13:53
That's a manga bookstore.
Arveent KathirtchelvanGUEST
1:36
And then to see it finally on the shelves, you know, it's in Krabudaya, it's in a lot of independent bookstores.
Arveent KathirtchelvanGUEST
1:42
And recently I've seen it in Kinokuniya online bookstore as well.
Arveent KathirtchelvanGUEST
1:46
Kinokuniya is where I went in my childhood to get books, right? So it's been quite a fulfilling experience.
Arveent KathirtchelvanGUEST
1:53
And actually what's really fulfilling is hearing feedback such as yourself, Darshan, that you really enjoyed the book.
Arveent KathirtchelvanGUEST
2:00
It puts into perspective all of those hours are not wasted, right? So thank you for

It's like an increasingly zoomed-in photo of his high school yearbook picture, and it looks really tacky and cheap, and the big clunking 600-page paperback I have of it is the most unfortunate, soured object.
Zach Langley Chi ChiHOST
11:32
But I love owning it, and I loved buying it when it was printed upon its release at the Kinokuniya in Shinjuku.
MaggieHOST
11:41
Yeah, I mean, it is very long.
MaggieHOST
11:43
I think that it being released in podcast format might also have something to do with how snappy and readable it is.
DJ Ranma SHOST
50:27
Because it came out last month, so trust me.
DJ Ranma SHOST
50:31
If I can't find it at Books Kinokuniya, I will find it at Animate.
DJ Ranma SHOST
50:40
Hell, there is a Remigo Takahashi.
DJ Ranma SHOST
50:42
I got to pick up the Colors fan book.
KevinPANELIST
10:39
I didn't buy anything, but I enjoyed it.
AshleyPANELIST
10:42
We're talking about Kinokuniya, the Japanese bookstore, which I know...
GabbyPANELIST
10:47
Christina
AshleyPANELIST
10:48
and
AshleyPANELIST
11:37
Yes.
KevinPANELIST
11:38
Apparently.
AshleyPANELIST
11:38
So Kinokuniya always has a booth at Anime NYC, but I prefer going to the actual store because one, it's a very short walk away from the New Yorker.
AshleyPANELIST
11:51
Two, it is a three floor bookstore.
AdamHOST
6:44
The hardest to find... genre one of you know mainstream genres is horror you know any place that sells vhs is like horror vhs are like hard to kind of come across and i think the people who work there take the good shit for themselves and then put everything else out on the floor like we have uh a few half-priced books here in town and the half-priced brooks and uh half-priced books in austin is fantastic and Not only do they have like really good books, I also have come across some really good magazines there because I still collect magazines.
AdamHOST
7:22
Like just yesterday, I went to Kinokuniya.
AdamHOST
7:24
They're sitting right here.
AdamHOST
7:26
I'm dropping shit.
AdamHOST
7:31
I went over to Kinokuniya and got two copies of Popeye magazine.
AdamHOST
7:37
Okay.
AdamHOST
7:37
I got one's like a fashion issue.
Mike JokohGUEST
16:23
So Law of Ueki came out and I was like, I really like this show, but the subs are so far behind.
Mike JokohGUEST
16:29
So I went to Kinokuniya, found out just where we were, the subs, and then I just bought the rest of the series.
Mike JokohGUEST
16:38
And I just took a Japanese dictionary and just looked up each line.
Mike JokohGUEST
16:40
It was like, okay, okay.
BayzadHOST
81:05
Yeah.
BayzadHOST
81:06
Like, you have to, like, whether, because in the States, you can go to, Popeye and like a lot of the Japanese magazines, Casa at Kinokuniya, New York, like to have a store, they have an online store.
BayzadHOST
81:19
It's just, yeah, it's going to cost like, it's going to cost like double.
RisaHOST
81:21
And now they're printing
BayzadHOST
81:27
Yeah, the English version of Popeye or whatever in Japan costs double the price of the not English version.
RisaHOST
81:36
And I thought that maybe it's because they want to sell it around the same retail when it gets to...
RisaHOST
81:44
The, you know, the New York Kinokuniya or something like that, maybe.
RisaHOST
81:49
I think it's for the tourists here.
