Bookends

Jilly? Jilly is never explained.

Then the next album, Bookends, comes out, and again, it's huge.

And this is where it starts to go pear-shaped.

We've gone through a lot without much dirt, but This seems to be where the seeds are sown for the next 50 years of their relationship.

Thanks, Nash.

That was Bookends Theme, the start of folk rock duo Simon and Garfunkel's fourth studio album, Bookends.

Released April 3rd, 1968 on Columbia Records.

But is it really the start? I mean, some might argue the true start to this brazen concept album.

But anyway, my mom would give me lunch money, and I'd squirrel away...

It took me a month probably to save up for it, but I really wanted to buy Simon & Garfunkel's Bookends album.

Oh.

My parents were and still are two of the coolest people you could ever possibly want to meet, so I probably could have just asked them for 10 bucks and they would've bought me the bloomin' thing.

But I was intent on showing my fiscal responsibility to earn it.

I know I did it by siphoning off their money anyway, but we're talking about a 15-year-old's logic here, so don't judge me.

But yes, their 1968 masterpiece, Bookends.

Many years later, I still find it to be an incredibly rewarding listen.

Just turning something into, like, an instrumental version, not sure if that would work.

But I put in, as an idea, I really like his album Bookends.

Like Simon and Garfunkel's album.

I like just the concept of it.
