Book design

She writes Gen X music-themed books, including the award-winning children's book, The Day We Found Yesterday, which is packed with more than 500 hidden 80s music references.

By day, she runs TLC Book Design for 30 years, I'll add, where she spent more than 30 years, like we mentioned, helping authors turn their ideas into beautiful books.

And she lives in Austin, Texas with her family.

Like our lives just unfold in ways when we let God, when we let God lead, even, even honestly, when we don't even know God's leading us and alive when I look back.

So yes, I've been a book designer for over 30 years.

I'm an author coach as well.

When did you start getting into food and marrying that with design?

I started working in book design back in 1998.

I had just moved to back to the Bay Area from the East Coast.

I was attending graduate school in Rhode Island at the Rhode Island School of Design.

I finished there, came to San Francisco with the intention of working in a design studio, perhaps, but got connected with the people at Chronicle Books and ended up getting some freelance book design projects with them.

And that really kind of launched my freelance career.

And I decided that that was more interesting than working for someone else.
