Bonefish

He's a famous fishing guide out of Sugarloaf.

Recently won the Bonefish Tarpon Trust Circle of Honor Award for Lifetime Achievement.

And he's going into the IGFA Hall of Fame this year.

He's like, you know, if you had to have a guy at a marina to look up to and emulate, it would be Timmy.

I know I listened to you talk about the impact that cruise ships are having on it too.

And I'd be very interested in learning about what you've been working on on the conservation side.

So I think out of filmmaking, I got brought into the Lower Keys Guides Association and the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust.

I was always a big fan of the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust back to my biology days and wanting to be a doctor and kind of understanding the power of science.

At the most recent Bahamas Bone Fishing Tournament in Andros, anglers from around the world received hands-on experience with the latest conservational technology.

Bonefish Top and Andros

is our partner in these tournaments and they have introduced a new device called a de-hooker that anglers and guides are going to use and that instrument is very important because it helps to preserve the fish and provides a healthy way of releasing the fish without too much handling.

Bonefish and Toppin Trust really focuses on the best handling practices in this fishery.

It was insane.

We had shovel-nose sharks, smoothhounds, leopard sharks, Bonefish, sand bass, spotted bay bass, and sargo, and those black china croakers.

It was pretty much everything that day.

It was just absolutely insane.
