... we end up fixing this Willys and selling it because amazingly it runs and just needs the 12, the 1,200 pounds of Bondo removed from it.

We end up dealing with this estate of this guy who specialized in World War II Jeeps and World War II Jeep tools, and somehow or other that sucks us into us doing a TV show for National Geographic where we ended up building a World War II Jeep in, you know how they always say two weeks on the TV shows?

They can't do it." And sure enough, within a month, he's sending me, he's like, "Can I ask you a question?" I sent him an- uh, and I'm getting all these questions, where I said to him, I said, "This is why I said you couldn't, I couldn't do it."

I said, "It's not possible." I said, "They're trying to substitute things into your vehicle that they can grab off the shelf at Tractor Supply." I said, "You're essentially going to get a vehicle back that's filled with Bondo-

As it cools slightly, it solidifies and forms a highly effective temporary plug that holds back the low pressure of the weeping coolant.

It is essentially organic Bondo.

But the internal fixes pouring things directly into the radiator fluid are even more fascinating to me when you look at the fluid dynamics.

If you pour a couple of tablespoons of coarse black pepper directly into the radiator fill cap, what happens inside the engine?

you know, and I'm, I'm not a paint and body guy.

I know, you know, of course we grew up doing stuff with my brother's truck and, you know, we did the Bondo, we pulled dents out, we did all kinds of stuff cause he bought an old 72 Cheyenne back in the day.

And, uh, he, uh, it was basically a farm truck, you know, and we pulled all the, the wood trim off of it, made it slick, like a gloss black, you know, filled all the holes in and did all kinds of stuff.

And he bought that thing for like 500 bucks in the field.

And it turned out to be nice.

Of course, this was back in the eighties too, you know? And, uh, but yeah, we did all the old dent pools and Bondo and, and he actually painted it himself right there in our outside yard.

So, But, you know, of course that was back in the day too.

So, but yeah, you know, I'm working on one that luckily the guy that owned it before me did a ton of body work on it.

everybody that loves their uh their uh roadkill roadkill garage when they're working on the car and they're writing the list on cardboard and when they're working on that cardboard list they're using a marker now i used to ask gene questions and i would say gene What year did Bondo come out? 1957.

I didn't start using it until 58.

Gene, what was the highest sandpaper grit that you guys had? 600.

I've seen builds where people have molded 993 bodies onto 964s, and there's so much Bondo, it's over an inch thick.

Oh! Like those cars are basically undriveable to me.
