I mean, Clement, for the first time, I'm chuffed seeing a roadblock where I'm actually seeing immigrations here on the ground.

I am chuffed seeing how many illegal, non-South African men, and I'm saying men because indeed it is men, that they've arrested who have been driving Ubers, Bolts and whatever when they check the documentation, they're not proper ones.

And I've watched them put them in the police vans.

My question is, Can't we have this visibility 365 days a year? Because gender-based violence and femicide does not sleep.

On this day in working class history, the 11th of September.

On the 11th of September 2017, in Nairobi, Kenya, drivers for rideshare services Taxify, Little and MondoRide joined Uber drivers on an indefinite strike demanding a cut in company commission rates.

Earlier in the year, Uber had been forced to increase fares by 20% after a series of protests and strikes by drivers.

But those increases failed to make up for a 30% reduction the firm had made to try to undercut regular taxis.
