Boiuna

Technically getting into Another Mommy.

And with that, Beware Boiuna was released October 2nd, 2026 exclusively in theaters.

Now Rowan, we've recently brought back Jaugust, which was the least attended and most disrespected theme month in the podcast history is...

You know, I, I feel like that's fair to say.

How could we not cover it and birth something entirely different, something new to us? Jaoctober.

Which might mean something a little bit different if you're Mike, but to us, our audience knows that we're a couple of creature feature fiends.

And I wanna know, were you looking forward to Beware Boiuna?

Yeah.

Um, they find w- they have weapons.

They find, like, only one piece of gold, so they start tying people up, and they set the place and the supplies on fire Then the giant snake Boiúna is here, and we get a close-up of mosquito that-

You, you better enjoy this, uh, this shot of big snake Boiúna here, because you will not get another shot of big snake Boiúna for another, like, half-hour.

Yeah.

[laughs]

... of the movie, and, like, that's it.

And-

I will say this, this was giving Kaiju with the amount of, like, Boiúna edging it had.

Beware what? Boyuna?

Yeah, B-O-I-U-N-A.

Okay.

Boyuna.

[laughs] So yeah, The Influencer Project.

And then the last movie that I will recommend is Beware Boiuna.

I am a massive, like, horror, like, a creature feature fan.

Hey.

Oh.

So give me snakes, give me people getting eaten by snakes, but give me a snake that's also super-duper smart in how she eats her food.

So yes, Beware Boiuna.

That's spelled B-O-

Naturally, a huge snake comes along, and it appears this snake is well-known in the area as some sort of angry goddess.

Boiuna.

Yeah, I said Boiuna.

It's Boiuna.

Boiuna will choose who lives and who dies, we are told.

This is her domain, we are told.

Well, then, why the hell [laughs] are the rest of you here? I have no idea.

Okay? Big snake, right? Especially back in the day when they couldn't afford any special effects.

Okay.

And then next we have Beware Bwana, B-O-I-U-N-A.

A team of doctors embark on a local mission in the Amazon rainforest, but it soon becomes clear that not everybody, or everything, is happy to see them.

Their sudden appearance draws the attention of an animal predator, the Bwana.

This is how we can do it.

And that allowed us to then take the folklore of Boyuna and sort of, because Boyuna different, there's so much different snake mythology that comes from that part of the world and different

stories.

And it allowed us to then kind of create one of our own, which was, Yes, she is called Mother of the Waters there by different groups.

And when there is balance, she rests.

When there's imbalance, she defends.

And we kind of use that as the Aguari's... story of Boyuna and what it means to them.

And then, of course, that's something that Lina has carried with her all these years and how she then presents it to Ali.

Yeah.

So, as mentioned on our socials, we had an opportunity recently to see an advanced screening of Beware Boyuna, which officially comes out in theaters on October 2nd.

And we're going to be dropping a full review episode for you guys probably within a week from the time you guys are hearing this episode.

So that's very cool.

That's a great marketing thing.

I wanted to know, did you personally get some kind of like angry DMs about it? Did you get

angry DMs about Boyuna eating Jimothy or Moudang or

anything? No, I mean, I think I remember seeing a couple comments posted where people were like, no, they ate Moudang.

... on October 2nd in theaters, a movie that one of you's definitely gonna get a point for, because it will be better than the title of this movie.

Deep in the Amazon, a medical mission spirals into a fight for survival when Boiuna, a colossal ancient predator, awakens to reclaim her domain.

Did I say that word? I don't...

Who cares.

In the jungle where nature holds absolute power, she decides who lives and who dies.

Boiuna.

If it will help your titling, although I think you were supposed to try to guess the actual title, but somehow it makes it even better.

Oh, I was supposed to... [laughs]
