Boeing 717

I think the Airbus 318 is now only, there's only two or three left flying with Air France and they'll be gone possibly this year.

The Boeing 717 as well, which was the last, the last variants of the DC-9 aircraft.

for those who remember that, which is only flying with Delta and Hawaii.

And I think Hawaii already has plans, their new owner is Alaska Airlines, and they're planning to replace them, possibly with 737s.

We're done.

Of course, the MD-80 has been reintroduced now as the Boeing 717.

But this is, again, the McDonnell Douglas leadership that took over Boeing, transferred the corporate offices out of Seattle to Chicago so that they could run basically a stock operation rather than building aircraft.

Now, this is bad management because when you look at the employees that were working at Boeing, They took great pride in what they were doing.

With their merger with Alaska Airlines, they're going to start bringing in 737s to run the inter-island flights rather than the aging 717 flights.

The Boeing 717 is one of my favorite aircraft, but it is older and it didn't have a very long production run.

It's harder to get replacement parts and to keep those maintained.

So this will be good when they bring in those new 737s for inter-island flights.
