And, uh, a cabaret singer by the name of Bobby Short.

But anyway, that's Bobby Short.

And, uh, Gene Hackman's, uh, older brother and Dick Van Dyke used to hang together.

But, but I also think that, you know, what you do in terms of that kind of intimate, you know, performing, it's, it's a frame of reference that also I think is accessible to those of us that are old souls at heart, that a lot of our peers that are our age don't necessarily have, because it's, you know, it's, it's people like, You know, people like Rosemary Clooney and Elaine Stritch and performers like that, Bobby Short, people like that who really excelled at doing that kind of thing.

And it's really a lost art.

And so when you see somebody under 50 doing it, it really is special.

Paul Thompson was born in 1974, Scottish musician who achieved fame as being the original drummer for the post-punk revival band Franz Ferdinand.

Bobby Short was born in 1924, iconic American cabaret singer and pianist who earned legendary status for his regular sophisticated interpretations of the great American songbook during his multi-decade residency at Manhattan's Cafe Carlisle.

Pat Barrett was born in 1933, Canadian vocalist who rose to international fame as being the high tenor singer of the 1950s vocal quartet, the Crew Cuts, who were famous for their chart-topping cover of the song Shaboom.

Ola Brunkert was born in 1946, a Swedish session drummer who became famous for his contributions to the studio albums and live tours of ABBA.

Bobby Short, for everyone who doesn't know, was this incredible musician who was always at The Carlyle, uh, like a long-standing, very old New York beautiful thing to do.
