Cajun Moon was recorded by Herbie Mann and Poco.

His 1976 Troubadour album includes a song called Cocaine that you might have heard of a few times that would be another major hit for Clapton the following year.

And I always loved the blues.

I love B.B. King, Bobby Bland.

Bobby Bland is my godfather.

My dad used to manage him and B.B. back in the day.

So I was like, I want to make a record that would make them proud.

The real desire of this, when I put this together with my kind of co-collaborator or co-music director, Josh Wyrick, who plays tenor sax in the band, we really talked about wanting to do some kind of Memphis and New Orleans inspired blues and soul music, both.

Some of the pioneers, people like Ray Charles and Otis Redding and Sam Cooke and Bobby Bland.

But then some of the people that have come after that, even some of the younger bands.

And then this is the first time we did an original song of Mind and Josh Rains the Horns.
