When Picasso was polishing up his guitar lithograph, Compote y Guitar, down in Texas, Bob Wills was tearing across the state with his fiddle and his band, the Light Crust Doughboys, as one of the pioneers of western swing.

The following year, Bob Wills would leave the Doughboys to start his own band, Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, which he's more known for.

And western swing would soon be heard on radios across the southwest.
