Totally, totally good advice right there.

Let's switch to Bob Gurr, another amazing legend.

And he said something about you prepare for your career by being prepared for nothing specific.

And just being curious and continuing to really feed on that curiosity.

It doesn't require a block in your calendar.

It's not about moving through your life on autopilot.

And I think what Bob's point is, and God bless you, Bob, for still going strong at this time and phase of your life, you never know how what something that might seem unrelated at the beginning happens.

Some of the construction was built of wood and steel infrastructure and surrounded by man-made rock.

Um Joe Fowler was the construction manager and Bob Gurr designed the ride and cars.

Bob Gurr, he designed pretty much every vehicle in Disneyland.

I mean, from down to the fire engines on Main Street, the double-decker bus, the monorail we're going to be talking about, just tons of vehicles.

And in an interview with E-Ticket magazine, he told them, he said, that this was the hardest project he'd ever done.

Okay.

Uh, Bob Gurr was there, Clayton.

I'm aware.

Oh, man.

Floyd Norman.

She, she'll only hold that over me my entire life.

It looks fabulous.

Every word you use to describe the book, that Southern California vintage design, flair, energy, also describes the person that wrote the foreword, who is one Bob Gurr.

Crazy, yes.

I love the first one.

God bless you, Bob Gurr, man.

May he just live and keep doing what he's doing forever.

But I love the fact that the foreword was written by somebody who can actually say to those recipes from 1955, I ate there.

And I'm like, what did you say? He's like, yeah, I've never eaten a Dole Whip.

But not a lot of people in the general public, a lot of general public people go, oh, yeah, Roley Crump.

Oh, yeah, Bob Gurr.

But nobody goes, oh, boy, Bud Hurlbutt.

So before we jump into this, a couple of housekeeping things.

Sometimes you look at people who are engineers and machinists and you go – You know, they're all about numbers, and they're all about the exact measurements of things, and geometry, and trigonometry, and they're not very creative people.

Oh, no.

Over time, my opinion has changed dramatically over this, where we know darn well, like, people like Bob Gurr.

Yeah.

You should go listen to him over there.

And then he went and he got these conversations with Disney legends Bob Gurr, Floyd Norman, Rolly Crump.

And, uh, and he's put it all together in a book called, uh, Walton is part of the stories.

You probably haven't heard.

Right.

And so I've reached out to some people and I know it's different.

I get even but even still, the fact that you reached out to Bob Gurr or Rolly Crump at episode five and then got him on there.

I mean, tell me how like this question is for me.

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions has announced its 2026 Hall of Fame class, which includes original Disney Imagineer Bob Gurr, along with Chip Cleary, Jeff Ellis, and Miguel Quintero Pali.

Gurr helped develop several Disneyland attractions, including the Monorail, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and Autopia.
