Bob Carr

It's priced at a really affordable way, deliberately priced anyone can come.

Like when we did the first one, Bob Carr's standing there.

And people walk in and they're like, oh my gosh, why is Bob Carr sitting here? And then he ends up sitting next to two people that didn't know who he was because one was a Kiwi and one was a French woman.

So it was a really beautiful kind of setting.

And if we go back twenty-five, twenty-six years to, say, the, the year 2000, which I'm gonna identify here, that, uh, you've gotta-- When I, I give you the numbers, you've also gotta s-ask, all right, well, h-have we had an appropriate increase in hospitals? Have the roads got better? Have we got more accommodation, more infrastructure? Because in 2000, you can go back and hear it.

It was being s-- Bob Carr was the Labor Premier of New South Wales.

And Bob Carr was being criticized 'cause he said, "Sydney's full.

Sydney can't accommodate really any more people.

It's just bursting at the seams.

We haven't got the infrastructure.

Too many people are pouring into Sydney." He said it, Bob Carr, 2000.

Now, that was when Sydney's population was around four million.

Oh, look.

We've got Bob Carr here, former New South Wales Premier and Foreign Minister,

and a

good mate of mine.

And that's given me a currency and a relevance here that I otherwise would not have had.

I mean, the reason I say that is Bob Carr and I did a panel last year.

And afterwards, Bob said to me, he said, you know, you made the right decision to stay in the US because if you'd stayed in Australia, they'd be asking you about the politics or the Liberal Party and what's going on with this or that.

And he's right.

There was a gap.

And then they brought in this new law, and I will say this loudly, it was Bob Carr, the former Federal Foreign Minister, but he was then the New South Wales Environment Minister back in those days, maybe late 80s, early 90s, whatever it was.

And he said, oh, no, no more of that.

So the D8 rusted.
