Forensic specialists began examining an abandoned blue 2-litre BMW 5-Series bearing Belgian registration plates.

The vehicle had apparently been abandoned during July 1986 on Queens Grove, St. John's Wood, approximately five miles from Charles Road, where Susie had disappeared almost six months earlier.
