Why T-Mobile Is Scrubbing Starlink Before an ASTS Deal
K
3:04KookHOST
I had come to the conclusion that it had probably been stuck.
K
3:10KookHOST
And so when I say I came to the conclusion, it was just running all the TLE data and the comparable data through AIs ad nauseum to really test and compare things like Blue Walker 3, which had been stuck versus the other deployments.
K

But I had seen this other theory out there around the spacing of the satellites.
K
3:35KookHOST
And so it was actually the analysis I saw right before deployment around just simple Newtonian physics of when BB12 and 13 were pushing off, there was just more mass for them to push off against versus BB11 just had the second stage and just basic physics.
AST SpaceMobile BB14-16 Shipped, Bluebird 11 Unfolds

And perhaps at some point in the future, if it becomes not sensitive, then maybe they'll share it, right? But yeah, I think obviously it was a big relief today to see The three Bluebirds shipped and then Bluebird 11 unfolded successfully, which is great.

So in terms of the Block 1, well, Blue Walker 3 and then Block 1 and Block 2 programs, we haven't had a satellite fail.
A

Right.

There's been one satellite that didn't make it to orbit, which is Bluebird 7.
The Setup Before AST SpaceMobile's Next Big Rerating

Like we're going to raise the satellite, we're going to use the thrusters, we're going to see if there's other factors or variables uh to consider uh when we deploy these satellites because you do just like with spacex right when you every time that they launch starship or falcon 9 at the time you you get learnings from it even if the mission is unsuccessful but i will note that uh if there was a situation where bluebird 11 um was indeed did indeed have problems and and is unable to um be commercially viable, that's not a extinction-level situation, right? It's not even material to the company.
A

If you think back to Blue Walker 3, if that satellite had failed, then that could have been almost an extinction-level type of event for the company because the company didn't have a ton in terms of capital, resources, and time.

And that was back in know 2022 and obviously the raid environment was awful um and the outlook for growth companies was really bad uh then fast forward to block one bluebirds one through five if one had been lost that would have been bad but survivable um but now we're in this this part of the you know deployment cycle where we are working on 48 satellites uh of which i believe Um, you know, maybe there's about 17 to 20 that are, that are kind of in parallel process at later stages of production.

Um, and so, you know, if you do lose one satellite, which, you know, we, we actually have, so if you guys, I mean, we, it seems like long, long ago, but it was only a few months ago that we lost blue bird seven.
