Blood Beach, which is apparently a 1980 movie that's basically like Tremors on the Beach starring John Saxon.

Wow.

And then Jealousy, where Angie Dickinson finds out that the emotion between love and hate is the most dangerous of all.

Who knows how good it is? I guess it'd be pretty decent if it's number four.

Blood Beach.

Beware from 1981.

Heard of it, never seen it.

Boy, that sounds familiar.

Wait.

It's called Blood Beach, but it's also called Beware?

No, it's called Blood Beach.

Yeah.

I mean, if you want to sum it up in a sentence, it's obviously pulling stuff from Blood Beach from the 80s, which was a movie that was great in concept, but shitty in execution.

But this actually is the movie I wanted from Blood Beach.

I still haven't seen Blood Beach.

And I know some people will be like, you don't need to see it, but...

It's fine for what it is.

Just a monster on a beach.

It's not like Blood Beach.

No.

That classic.

So now that I've seen the movie three times, once a couple years ago and then twice for this reviewing, I very much enjoy this film.

It's not one of my favorite 80s slashers, but it might be my favorite beach 80s slasher that I've seen, but I haven't seen Blood Beach yet, so maybe not.

We'll see.

like about it is that it, like, it's a low budget filmmaking studio, right? So these are like, you know, yeah, this isn't Hollywood.

These are just guys who make their, you know, they were talking about how like, oh yeah, we made Blood Beach 1 and Blood Beach 2 and we made like five movies in two years.

It's like, yeah, probably not the best, you know, quality if you're working on that sort of scale.

You know what I'm saying?

This week we have a forgotten 1980 film called Blood Beach, starring John Saxon and Burt Young.

Saxon investigates some Santa Monica beach murders where victims were sucked under the sand itself, very much like the movie we're comparing it with, the vehicle that lifted a young Kevin Bacon to stardom, everyone's favorite Saturday afternoon cable TV movie, Tremors, from 1990.

We're going to talk about Bacon is coupled with, again, more on that later, Fred Ward as the two scamps try desperately to stop several gigantic worms traveling under the desert floor from murdering the residents of the podunk Nevada town called Perfection.

Classic stuff.

I'm sure we have all seen Tremors a trillion times over.

We'll get to Blood Beach in a moment.
