[mellow music] I'm Marquise Munson, here with another edition of Nashville Public Radio's What Where Wednesday, keeping you up to date with the happenings in Nashville this week.

Starting tonight, WNXP Trivia is now at Vinyl Tap, and on Thursday night, WNXP Summerline Series at Ascension Saint Thomas Landing at Nashville Yards featuring Blondshell with Caroline Carter.

On Friday and Saturday, James Austin Johnson takes the stage at Zanies, and Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country, two nights, is at The Ryman.

Also on Saturday, Brandi Carlile is at Bridgestone Arena, and on Sunday, Chance the Rapper is at The Ryman.

It'll be her third album.

Prior to Blondeshell, we heard Ruby Gill, latest track from her, called Carol Slash Not Carol.

Really good track, that one.

Ruby Gill's a talented songwriter.

It's family-friendly, but we have huge artists and NPR favorites like Bully and Blondshell and Ratboys all coming up this very weekend starting and through the end of September.

Nice.

Boy, if I lived in Nashville, I would, I would certainly be there.

They'd be incredible.

Um, and then the act that got my wife out to Bonnaroo this year that we were so excited to see, um, Blondshell.

They had to-- They were one of the cancellation, uh, people on Sunday this year.

That's right.

For sure.

Blondshell seems to be moving away from the raw confessional style of her early work into something more abstract, which is fascinating.

Right.

She said the songwriting has become less literal.

It feels timely and relevant.

Absolutely.

Blondshell is making a statement about the human experience.

Those topics aren't easy, but they're necessary.
