I, I, I should say that World of Warcraft Forever was announced at BlizzCon 2026 about a month ago, along with a new expansion for Warcraft III: Reforged, which is of course a, uh, remake of World of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos that I believe came out in 2002.
ZachHOST
5:01
So, super old game.
ZachHOST
5:02
They just gave it a new expansion, which is, uh, you know, kind of interesting, and largely a lot of this ties into an episode that we did a little bit earlier on Witcher 3: Songs of the Past and talking about how there's a lot more AAA developers that are willing to re- revisit their back catalog and make completely new content for these games that had, you know, previously existed for quite some time but not necessarily really received, uh, updates.

I've been at Blizzard a long time and I've got a bunch of BlizzCons under my belt.
Darren WadeHOST
22:52
Do you know how hard all these announcements were to hold in as we prepared for BlizzCon 2026? Yeah.
Darren WadeHOST
22:56
I can't even believe this is real, man.
Darren WadeHOST
22:58
Like, okay, sorry, I'm locked in.

World of Warcraft Forever's beta is in full swing, and if its popularity is any indication of how the full launch might go, it's going to be big, as Blizzard has had to increase the beta's population cap multiple times.
Lam GulukaHOST
25:19
Forever was Blizzard's big finale during its BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony, a modified version of WoW Classic that keeps the old-school MMORPG's gameplay and world alive.
Lam GulukaHOST
25:30
but brings plenty of new changes and content as well.
Lam GulukaHOST
25:33
It's something WoW classic players have asked for for years, and Blizzard is finally ready to deliver.
Robert SilvaHOST
11:20
[laughs] But that is all that we had going on in the podcast last week.
Robert SilvaHOST
11:23
Last week we did also have a poll for you guys where we ended up asking the rather simple question of what did you think of BlizzCon 2026 and its announcements? And overwhelmingly, literally nobody voted that they thought it was terrible.
TimHOST
11:38
Wow.
Robert SilvaHOST
11:39
With, uh, 35, [laughs] 38% of the vote saying that it was absolutely perfect, which is personally the camp that I kind of fell in.
Shane SatterfieldHOST
127:24
But anyway, that's what we learned today from the Xbox reset.
Shane SatterfieldHOST
127:29
Now let's talk very quickly about BlizzCon 2026, which happened last week.
Shane SatterfieldHOST
127:34
And it's weird, Matt, to me that that happened yesterday.
Shane SatterfieldHOST
127:38
and then this came after.

13 MINS LATER

Shane SatterfieldHOST
140:55
Yeah.
Shane SatterfieldHOST
140:56
Well, there you go.
Shane SatterfieldHOST
140:58
That is Xbox Reset Part 2 conjoined with BlizzCon 2026.
Shane SatterfieldHOST

And that is our headline of the week brought to you by videogame.town. All right.
