I hate it so much.

And really that started this really cool thing for John.

Unfortunately, like, you know, we had one, video with mcg that uh kind of was on mtv for a second and things just you know we made the second album we got mark trombino for that who's like you know i was a huge fan of clarity and we were the band after bleed american to record with mark and just before finch wow what it is to burn yeah so it was like we did our album got shelved

Yep.

That's why you never heard us show up.

I saw Mark do this.

He was doing it on Bleed American all the time, guys.

Yeah, I

at a higher level how a label should operate but pretty much any indie label you find you know I'd love to do stories on all of them really like Epitaph would be a great one but they all kind of have this thing where it's one record pays for the next that's kind of the idea because you don't start with money but if we skip forward like two years this is when they start working with Jimmy Eat World and It's quite a good story because I didn't know that Jimmy had ever worked with Fueled by Ramen.

And I actually used to think when Bleed American came out, I always thought that was a Fueled by Ramen release.

It wasn't.

I'd love to know if there's a story verse somewhere because I'm sure that they would have wanted to release it.

I'm happy for those that are passionate about that.

I'm writing about really rock music, mainstream rock music, during some of the same period that Andrew's writing about, going back a little bit earlier to the early 2000s.

Well, our books will overlap because by the time I get to Bleed American, yeah, that kind of overlaps with the Strokes and the New Rock Revolution and the 9-11 of it all.

So I was interviewing a guy for my book.

He's like, oh, your book ends with 9-11.

This song, The Middle, was released in October of 2001.

It was the second single off their fourth album, Bleed American.
