Frickity Frack, We Do Talk Back is a show where I discuss different aspects of fandom and how they relate to the gospel.
PatrickHOST
0:17
So we're going to be going through an episode of Bleach, Thousand Year Blood War, and connect it to teachings from the Bible.
PatrickHOST
0:23
The name of the show comes from my dad, who dubbed my brother and me Frick and Frack since we were kids.
PatrickHOST
0:29
We're looking at episode 50, Death and Strawberry.

That's kind of what I'm assuming is what he's doing.
PatrickHOST
8:52
That he's inherited Orihime's abilities and Ichigo's Soul Reaper abilities.
PatrickHOST
9:00
And other than that, it really felt like an early Bleach episode, like when they were fun.
PatrickHOST
9:07
But don't get me wrong, there's a lot of fun that's happened in the Thousand Year Blood War.
ForneverWorldHOST
0:55
I know some people are going to get upset.
ForneverWorldHOST
0:57
and mad and they're gonna tell me how much they love this series or that series but let's be very real and genuine here let's go back you know in order to understand what's happening right now and why it is the way it is right now we gotta go back for a second big three era not only were the big three Naruto One Piece and Bleach lit But everything around it was fire.
ForneverWorldHOST
1:17
And everybody was talking about it.
ForneverWorldHOST
1:18
Anywhere from the Hitman Reborns.

Outside of the next big guns of... kagura bachi and ichi the witch i don't see the you know random series that nobody knows or talks about having a moment where all of you know anime twitter stops and points it out i don't see that anymore and i think that that's probably because these artists aren't taking as many risks as they should it seems like they're just most of the people that actually succeed are the people that are not afraid most of the people that are making moves are the people that are not afraid That's what needs to be done.
ForneverWorldHOST
11:28
You gotta break through.
ForneverWorldHOST
11:29
Like, yo, the ending of Bleach, Tite Kubo said it best.
ForneverWorldHOST
11:32
No more fear.
CP the GhostHOST
38:30
So, I don't know.
CP the GhostHOST
38:31
But as of right now, that's it for Bleach, man.
CP the GhostHOST
38:35
So...
CP the GhostHOST
38:38
Yeah,

this is wild um so did uh the thousand year blood war prove that uh bleach was kind of ahead of its time to you
DeratiHOST
51:50
i don't know what you mean by that
CP the GhostHOST
51:52
so damn boy when i wrote this i didn't know what i was typing evidently um So, did Thousand Year Blood War prove that Bleach was ahead of its time, or are fans just simply looking at the series differently because modern anime has raised the bar? So, I guess, essentially, do you feel like it fits in this modern anime time? I mean...
CP the GhostHOST
52:21
Or does it even have
CarlaGUEST
1:56
I liked Pokemon.
CarlaGUEST
1:57
I watched anime like Naruto, Bleach, everything on TV, Digimon that I couldn't find.
CarlaGUEST
2:04
But for a long time, I tried to kind of deny that part of myself a little because it wasn't cool to like Japanese video games like Pokemon or anime when I was younger in Germany.
CarlaGUEST
2:19
Like you would get bullied at school.

back in the days during i want to say it was around after aizen but before the blood war basically the the executioners you know genjo tsukishima all that stuff this is the same dude that when people were coming at him back in the days and basically criticizing him but for anything he did it wasn't even just like you know proper critiques or validity to these criticisms it was basically just like people were straight up hating on him after aizen's defeat maybe you could say it was aizen fanboys i don't know what was going on but back in those times, Kubo was getting a lot of heat, and he came out with like a flamethrower, basically, of telling all of them, if you can't do a manga like me, you can't create like me, you know what I'm saying, then shut up, in other words, if you can't be on my level, if you can't make it happen like myself, then I don't want to hear nothing y'all got to say, y'all just can't do it like me, that's what, that seems to be the problem, you know what I'm saying, if you could do it, then do it but you can't because you're not on my level at all by any stretch of the imagination like homie has never been one to hold his tongue at anything you know what i'm saying like this is the the type of dude that this is why probably you could throw the argument many people or you should say probably the higher ups of shonen jump have always kind of well back in those times things have changed nowadays seemingly but Back in those times, it felt like Taito Kubo and Bleach kind of got isolated for a bit.
ForneverWorldHOST
4:52
It felt like the support that it once had was not really there anymore as far as the promotion and everything.
ForneverWorldHOST
4:58
It was basically Kubo against the world type of situation for a given point.

Kurosaki's Menacing Glare.
ForneverWorldHOST

It's the blueprint for the modern fighting genre, influencing successors like Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen, which both picked up its mantle and sales popularity since Bleach's manga run ended in 2016.
ForneverWorldHOST
10:29
In Kubo's words, the creators of those series have told me they were influenced by Bleach.

Today, we are creating the strongest character that ever lived in the world of Bleach! And yeah, I'm sure you already know the drill by now.
speaker_7HOST
2:19
I mean, with the return of Bleach, we had to make this video on this legendary anime as well! We'll go over every trait and aspect a character can have, and choose only the best of the best in each category! And by the end of the video, yeah, you know the rest.
speaker_7HOST
2:31
No one will be able to stand in our way! Okay, so once again, let's set a small rule.
speaker_7HOST
2:36
What rule? Well, to make this video a bit more interesting and, like, more challenging, let's say that we can only use a trait from a character just once.

It can manipulate energy and perform several techniques.
speaker_7HOST
11:51
Among others, Urahara can even use a Crimson Energy Blast that can be used offensively, a defensive technique that forms a powerful Crimson Barrier, or even techniques that deflect incoming attacks.
speaker_7HOST
12:01
When it comes to Ichigo now, there is not really a release command, but Zangetsu has nonetheless among the most powerful Shikai in the world of Bleach.
KenHOST

I'm moving on next to Burn the Witch, which I've read, but I haven't seen.
KenHOST
8:13
And that is a spinoff of Bleach.
KenHOST
8:16
Spoilers, they don't reveal it until the end that it is actually tied into Bleach.
KenHOST
8:20
It's about the British side of the Soul Society.
DougHOST
8:24
Oh, that's cool.

I'm moving on next to Burn the Witch, which I've read, but I haven't seen.

DougHOST
8:46
Oh, that's cool.
RiddellHOST
102:10
I think he just has more moments.
RiddellHOST
102:13
And obviously what he represents for the Bleach story is much more impactful in comparison.
RiddellHOST
102:19
Because Dark Rayleigh is the second.
RiddellHOST
102:21
And then there's older old guys that are more badass, more cold.

SantoHOST
109:19
At 4, we got Yamamoto from Bleach.
SantoHOST

Detective OtakuHOST
17:06
I just saw something that looked interesting with girls and dragons, and then I found out that Burn the Witch is actually a spin-off.
Detective OtakuHOST
17:15
set 12 years after the Thousand Year Blood War and two years after the final chapter of Bleach.
Detective OtakuHOST
17:23
So while Bleach tends to focus on traditional Japanese folklore, Burn the Witch is Kubo's more modern take love letter to the Western world with punk rock.
Detective OtakuHOST
17:38
It's described as a punk rock Harry Potter.
Detective OtakuHOST
17:41
So the biggest differences are you have...
Detective OtakuHOST
17:45
Karakura Town in Japan and the Eastern Soul Society versus Front London and Reverse London and the Western Soul Society.
Detective OtakuHOST
17:55
Your factions are the Gotei 13 with the Soul Reapers and the Shinigami versus the Winged Bind with the Witches and Wizards.
Detective OtakuHOST
18:05
Your primary threats are Hollows, obviously, and Bleach, corrupted human souls.
