So how do you do that?

Yeah, it's a really good question.

So we started with our legal counsel, our lead legal counsel, Prashnaik, who's terrific, who's worked on a lot of like these films risky films, I would say.

Um, and so, uh, we had very good advice from the beginning and we, uh, we, on Prash's advice, we, uh, we engaged legal counsel in each of the jurisdictions where we were covering cases.

And it basically set the legal framework for the film from the beginning, which can be a little bit scary editorially, but because everyone knew the risks and knew that we wanted to protect and create a safe environment for the participants who had already been sued or been through litigation, everyone was very committed to that.

So we had... training, legal training and duty of care training.

Everyone that worked on the film went through that training before we'd even, you know, picked up a camera and started shooting anything.

Yeah.

And how was that being able to channel storytelling in silence?

Yes, good question.

I mean, I think we all know that issues don't make films.

There can be an issue at the heart of it, but what audiences are going to engage with is storytelling.

And we were dealing with something that was also, you know, the law is very complex.

It can be very heavy and difficult to understand and technical.

And so for us, it was all about character and all about the women at the centre of these cases.

How important was safety for you to make sure that it was insured throughout?
