It was Trey Murphy's rookie season, but I think Jabari Smith gives them some upside there at the four as like a stretch forward who was talented enough to go number three.

We kind of knew that he was more of a project compared to to like chet and paulo who went one and two nine san antonio so this is actually like you look back on it a terrible draft for the spurs they ended up going jeremy sohan at nine they ended up going uh malachi branham at 20 and blake wesley at 25. oh for three probably that's coming off directing joshua primo in the lottery I mean, the Spurs were not like...

They were making good moves.

They were making bad moves.

Clearly, they like the boomer bus guys.

So yeah, they went Blake Wesley here, who I thought actually was pretty good in like preseason for the San Antonio Spurs.

And I think like Jake O'Revia isn't like a great basketball player.

So wanted to start with this, and something we've talked a little bit about on the podcast, but it's always interesting, and that's defending great players.

Yeah, I think there's a couple things, you know, that we also have to improve on.

One, honoring the first rule, which is the spot-up shooter is as important as the star.

When you overcommit and leave guys open, I think that's as dangerous as whatever you decide to do against the star in the half court.

And then I think the main thing with the stars is just basic basketball.

Mars, can you talk to us about the Blazers off-season receipts? What they did, who they lost, who they gained, who they signed, who they drafted, and who walked?

Um, they have apparently let Blake Wesley go.

He hasn't been picked up by anyone, but he is not on the Blazers roster.

Matisse Thybulle has left and joined the Lakers.

I mean, we need j- I need you to do all the things that develop the players that came out of nowhere like Mikal Alexander-Walker did, uh, on the Timberwolves.

Like, we need to find that player.

Like, Blake Wesley or someone like him needs to do a lot.

Like, s- Jeremy Sochan's on this roster.

That was after Scoot Henderson got hurt in training camp and missed the first 50 games.

Then, you know, third string emergency point guard Blake Wesley's hurt on Halloween.

So...

You just, you know, you don't have your backups.

But as they say in Moneyball, if you can build along the edges here and try to recreate what the guy was able to do, Yabusele is an option out there that the Blazers, I believe, should strongly consider.

Last but not least on my free agent list today is a familiar face to Blazer fans, and that's Blake Wesley.

Now, Blake is a point guard by nature.

He's listed as a shooting guard online, but he is somebody who not only has familiarity with the Blazers organization, but has shown an ability on the defensive end to be an absolute dog.
