Take it away.
2:16
Okay, thank you.
2:17
I respect that.
2:19
I guess, you know, I'm a human, you know, on the earth, just like all of us doing my best.
2:25
And I've learned a lot of hard lessons, which I know from your background, I know you can resonate with.
2:30
And the big theme of my work is that, you know, I discovered along the way that most forms of suffering, so mental, emotional, physical, financial, relational, so personal and professional suffering and problems, I could tie back to us never learning how to have a healthy, loving, optimal relationship to ourselves in childhood.
2:52
Basically, no one ever taught us how to love ourselves, how to have a healthy relationship to our mind, to our emotions, to our body.

9 MINS LATER

11:45
Can we talk about some of the habits that would help us get that under control so that we are coming from a place of logic, not emotion a little more often?
15:06
Mm.
15:06
And, um, one night when I was 17, I was coming home from a party in the middle of the night, and I had taken a couple Xanax pills and had been drinking all night and smoking cannabis all night, and I did this all the time, and, and I thought that I was invincible.
15:21
And I got to a freight train in the middle of the night.
15:24
I was literally about one minute from home, and I couldn't keep my eyes open as the train was passing, and so I pulled up right to the guardrail, and thankfully I put my car in park, and I put my head back, and I fell asleep.
15:37
And I woke up to police knocking on the window, and I rolled down the window, and I said, "Excuse me, officer.
15:43
Was I driving too slow?" And he said, "Son, you've been parked here for at least an hour with the car running and the lights on, and we got a call from this house over here that there's a car parked in front of the train tracks." So, you know, I got out of the car.
15:57
I went through all the sobriety tests.
17:38
Mm.
