Blairsville

Okay, let's get into today's story.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 12, 2006, Dr. John Yelnik finished up his final exam of the day at his dental practice in the rural community of Blairsville, Pennsylvania.

He handed his patient a toothbrush and told her to come back in six months.

Then he headed into his back office to pack up.

And pretending to be happy all day was actually really exhausting.

And so John walked across the lot, climbed into his car, and then began the half-mile drive from his dental practice to his house.

So John had actually grown up in Blairsville, and it had been his lifelong dream to raise a family here.

So when he graduated from dental school 13 years earlier, he could have set up shop in a big city and very likely made a higher salary right off the bat.

Where's the closest Racks to us, by the way?

[sighs] There used to be one, the last one I knew about was in Blairsville, PA.

Mm.

Uh, i- and I think it was also part of a gas station.
