One year later, when he was 27 years old, Corley was in court again on another assault charge.

The court heard that he had been living with his aunt and uncle in Blaenavon, Wales since his release.

His uncle, Edward Morgan, said that Corley had been brought up in a home where his mother controlled everything, and after her death, his father could not control him.

After his release from prison, Corley suddenly found himself with no experience of the outside world and was earning £16 a week as a trainee foreman.
