And then Blade 2, while really interesting, like every Blade hits different.
Matthew CrowleHOST
6:20
Blade 2, I think, does a lot with the characters and the mythos of it, like beyond what the other three do.
Matthew CrowleHOST
6:26
And I find the lore build behind it very fun.
Matthew CrowleHOST
6:29
And then Blade 3 is the feel good comedy of 2006.
Joshua HunterHOST

Joshua HunterHOST

RaeGUEST

And I actually saw Pan's Labyrinth before I saw Blade II.

Phil IscoveHOST
6:21
I saw Pan's Labyrinth in theaters, but I don't think I saw Hellboy II in theaters.

Continuing in my heck off Ben-dations, early 2000 era horror films not yet on the recommendations list, I give you Blade II.

Come on.
Big Ben HaslarPANELIST
74:47
The first two Blade films might be my favorite examples of action horror.
Big Ben HaslarPANELIST
74:50
Uh, Blade II takes what, uh, the first one did and humanizes it a bit by blurring the lines between vampires and the ones who hunt them by introducing another threat: a vampire that can eat other vampires, turning those he feeds on into zombie vampires.
speaker_10HOST

Mike EvansHOST
18:45
I mean, his...
Mike EvansHOST
18:47
He didn't really have something that really took off until this movie allowed him to then in 2002, uh, do Blade II, which is what really launched him in, you know, Hollywood.
Mike EvansHOST
18:59
Uh, but yeah, those movies, I really like his first two movies, Cronos and Mimic.
Mike EvansHOST
19:05
Um, you definitely see that early style there.

Devon TaylorHOST

I got to watch the movie by myself in the theater and I got out, played some games.
Devon TaylorHOST
14:05
made me feel very mature uh yeah i bet yeah cool good times um so i remember uh similar to you i you know just i really love this era of superhero movies comic book movies and again this was like you know had more gothic uh leanings to it so of course that you know very much interested me it was a character i'd never heard of i um i did read i did read um a sea of destruction like um uh probably like 10 years ago like um in my early 20s somewhere in there i uh read through it but haven't touched it since um but at the time i just like wasn't familiar at all and uh yeah because i just i liked that it was just something different like it was like oh these aren't superheroes with capes and all the classic stuff and like you know the idea of a another organization you know um uh in there so like uh i thought it was really cool it felt original you know um it felt fresh uh yeah as well say and um you know and recognizing that it was like this was like early on whenever i like started connecting directors to things So like whenever I realized like I saw on the poster from the director of Blade 2 and I was like, oh, OK, I like Blade 2.
Devon TaylorHOST
15:16
I'll probably like this.
Devon TaylorHOST
15:17
So it was like kind of I started I was like, OK, this Del Toro guy, I'm digging him.

20 MINS LATER

Garrett McDowellHOST
35:17
it was funny monica had no idea what ron perlman looked like even though we literally watched uh blade 2 and she just didn't remember his face at all and she was like a little disappointed because she was like man his voice is so attractive and ron perlman he's an interesting looking fellow you know uh And she was just like, oh, wow, I did not I did not pair that face with that voice at all.
Devon TaylorHOST
35:38
Yeah, yeah.
