Blacktown City FC

Um, other news from around the traps quickly, I, I guess we'll get to a couple of these and, and timely that I bring up Blacktown because, uh, there's a bit of an exodus on the cards.

The new ownership has, has come, and we may be signing off the end of Mark Crittenden at Blacktown City after leading them to survival, having been threatened by relegation.

Um, there's gonna be a couple of loyal servants following Critto out the door.

Um, Travis Major making a, an Instagram post during the week that referenced loyalty and how important that was to him as the all-time record goalscorer for the club, and someone who sits as large in their history as anybody.

... to, to step into that void?

Yeah, I don't know, I don't know how it's gonna look like at Blacktown next year.

Like you, you, you, you worry that we could lose Blacktown City, and that would be disaster for football.

I, I know Blacktown have got the Spartans coming back into the NPL, but if you ask anybody that's a football fan in Blacktown have they got a team, it's always been City.

But while we finish that, let's just take a look at a couple of, um, notes I've taken here from my sources during the week.

I had said in the past that Crittenden, the coach of Blacktown, probably seen enough there, done enough, doesn't need to prove anything else, and I thought it was time for him to move on.

Well, our sources were telling us that no, he's re-signed with, uh, Blacktown.

And I thought, okay, that's good.

All right.

Well done.

And now we find out again on the NPL transfers that Crittenden has, uh, is, is leaving Blacktown for season 2027.

He will not be there.

And then it was my...

I remember, under 17s, I played against Blacktown City, and my mate, Mark Sheehy, I went with him.

He'd done his ankle.

Sheehy.

The A-League was starting up, but the A-League wasn't starting up until...

the following year and I played in the summer in the football because the rugby league took preference in the winter so basically the league wasn't starting until probably about I think the pre-season started around about June, July so you've got your seven months in limbo so luckily enough my neighbour gave me a job installing air conditioning just labouring with him and I played part time for a couple of clubs with some great names I played for Blacktown City Demons I played for Wollongong Wolves in that period of time and then luckily enough I went out and played in Singapore for four months for a club called Galang, which was a fabulous experience.

And then came back to Australia and played in the A-League.

Started up eight teams and I was lucky enough with a lot of guys that I played with in Northern Spirit.
